LAS VEGAS -- The Saint Mary's women's basketball team used a massive rebounding advantage and a hot shooting third quarter to roll to an 85-71 win over Loyola Marymount in the quarterfinals of the 2016 West Coast Conference Championships Friday afternoon at Orleans Arena.
The second-seeded Gaels improve to 24-6 on the season and will face sixth-seeded San Francisco (10-9), an upset winner over No. 3 San Diego in last night's first round, Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the tournament semifinals. LMU ends its season with a 11-20 overall record.
Senior Lauren Nicholson scored a game-high 24 points, including a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line, to lead the Gaels, while guard Devyn Galland added 16 points.
