PORTLAND, Ore. – The Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team wrapped-up a strong first-half of conference play with a convincing 78-51 win at Portland on Saturday afternoon in the Chiles Center. The win was SMC’s 14th consecutive win over the Pilots.
With the win, Saint Mary’s improves to 16-4, 7-2 West Coast Conference as SMC remains just one game behind the WCC co-leaders. Saint Mary’s will play six of its nine remaining conference games at home, and will not have to leave California.
The Gaels shot 61.5 percent in the second half and used a 23-1 run spanning two periods to run away from the Pilots.
