MORAGA, Calif. – The Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team rallied from behind and had a few chances to tie but fell to Santa Clara 73-67 on Wednesday afternoon in McKeon Pavilion.
Saint Mary’s was led by Lauren Nicholson with 20 points, while Sydney Raggio collected a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds. The Gaels had to battle some foul trouble throughout the game, but was able to keep the game close with strong bench play.
Saint Mary’s has now won 16 of the last 19 meetings with the Broncos. SMC will face SCU during the final weekend of WCC action.
