MORAGA, Calif. – The Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team enters the West Coast Conference Tournament with its best seeding since 2011 as the No. 2 seed. The Gaels (23-6, 14-4 WCC) recorded their most-ever conference wins after winning their final five WCC games.
The Gaels last appearance as the No. 2 seed came during the 2010-11 season as the Gaels advanced to the championship game (also last championship game appearance) before falling to Gonzaga.
Saint Mary’s has four straight 23-win seasons which include a pair of WNIT Quarterfinal appearances. The Gaels are no stranger to postseason play with six straight WNIT years.
