MORAGA, Calif. – James Watt's undefeated run in singles and doubles at the Battle in the Bay Qualifiers hosted by Cal has earned him the Bay Alarm Student Athlete of the Week.
Watt went 4-0 In singles competition this past weekend, defeating USF's Johan Garpered 6-3, 6-1 and Dusan Rsovac of UNLV, 6-1, 6-3 to advance to the elite eight of the tournament.
On day two he beat Derrick Chen from Cal 6-3, 7-5 and Andrei Volgin of UC Davis 6-3, 7-5 to move on to the Battle of the Bay on September 23-25 at the California Tennis Club in San Francisco.
