MORAGA, Calif. — Calm, quiet and poised, Lauren Solis waits.
Then the whistle blows and she explodes forward, serving the ball harder, faster and stronger than she ever has. And on a number of occasions already this season, the result has been perfect.
But Solis’ experiences leading her to Saint Mary’s taught her that while successes may come, not every result is perfect. Championships and individual awards abounded during her high school and club volleyball careers, giving her invaluable experience as she entered the next competitive level of the sport. But losing a state title in a three-set sweep her junior year also taught her – there’s always room to grow.
