MORAGA, Calif. — The Saint Mary’s volleyball team split its final two matches of its own Saint Mary’s Tournament Saturday, defeating Middle Tennessee State 3-1 (23-25, 25-12, 25-23, 25-11) in the afternoon before falling to Nevada 3-1 (22-25, 25-27, 25-16, 20-25) in the nightcap at McKeon Pavilion.
Sarah Chase turned in consecutive double-digit kills performances with 10 against MTSU and 18 against Nevada. Mary Hernandez had 20 assists in both matches, with a double-double versus Nevada thanks to 10 digs. The Gaels (4-2) tallied 23 total team blocks on the day with 10 against Middle Tennessee State and 13 against Nevada.
