MALIBU, Calif.— Another competitive match highlighted the Saint Mary's women's volleyball team's action at Pepperdine Saturday, but it was the Waves who came out on top, holding off the Gaels in a 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-20, 25-19) win at Firestone Fieldhouse.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Pepperdine (11-6, 3-1 WCC) got out to an early big lead, starting the first set on an 11-3 run en route to a 25-18 win and a 1-0 match advantage. Six kills and three SMC errors sparked the run.
- Saint Mary's (5-10, 1-4 WCC) returned the favor in set two, jumping out to a 12-5 lead before evening the match at 1-1 with a 25-23 victory.
