SEATTLE — The Saint Mary's women's volleyball team battled all day Saturday against two of the top teams in the country, but host No. 3 Washington earned a 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-19) victory and Pittsburgh eeked out a 3-2 (25-22, 22-25, 25-22, 20-25, 17-15) win over the Gaels in a five-set thriller at Alaska Airlines Arena.
VS. No. 3 WASHINGTON
· The No. 3-ranked Huskies led wire-to-wire in sets one and three, and only trailed by two points (2-0) early in set two.
· The Gaels stayed close in the second set, fighting to an 8-8 tie and still being within three points at 17-14 before Washington closed with an 8-3 run.
