MORAGA, Calif. — As the 2016 season looms, the Saint Mary’s volleyball team is overflowing with offensive firepower that will take the young program to the next level.
The Gaels’ group of outside hitters in 2016 includes three returners and two newcomers. All five players are either freshmen or sophomores with no more than one year of collegiate experience. But don’t let that youth fool you. All five players bring power and poise to the front court for the Gaels.
“We have a strong core of outside hitters, with three of them playing pretty much every point last season as freshmen,” said Saint Mary’s head coach Rob Browning.
