PORTLAND, Ore. — Another balanced effort Saturday powered the Saint Mary's women's volleyball team's play, but host Portland was able to take leads in each set and hold them en route to a 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-21) West Coast Conference sweep at the Chiles Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
· Portland (10-4, 1-1 WCC) grabbed leads within the first five points of both set one and set three, then led the rest of the way to take both sets.
· Saint Mary's (4-8, 0-2 WCC) led 13-9 in set two, but the Pilots went on a 10-2 run to take a 19-15 lead and secure a 2-0 match lead at the time.
