LOS ANGELES — The Saint Mary's women's volleyball team fought back all night Thursday, pushing its West Coast Conference match at Loyola Marymount to a deciding fifth set, but that's where the Lions would pull the comeback, closing on an 8-3 win to hold on for a 3-2 (25-22, 26-28, 25-16, 23-25, 15-11) win at Gersten Pavilion.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Saint Mary's (5-9, 1-3 WCC) trailed in the match 1-0 and 2-1, but went on runs in both the second and fourth sets to tie it each time.
The Gaels went on a 9-2 run to win set two after Loyola Marymount (8-6, 1-2 WCC) had reached set point at 24-19.
