MORAGA, Calif. — The Saint Mary's women's volleyball team enters the 2017 season with renewed vigor. Buoyed by the riches of experience and energized by talented newcomers, Saint Mary's looks to continue its improvement from a year ago in a big way.
The Gaels made a five-win improvement in 2016. And of the 61 sets they dropped last year, 30 of them were by five points or less. The 2016 Gaels had more kills, more assists, more service aces and more blocks than the 2015 squad, and with six returners in 2017 whom played on both of the past two teams, the hunger is palpable.
