Third quarter not enough as Gaels fall in WCC title game

The Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team fell behind by double digits at halftime and weren’t able to get over the hump that is Gonzaga, as the Gaels fell 86-75 in the WCC title game in Las Vegas.

However, the loss and exposed mistakes failed to mask the effort Saint Mary’s put forth in the latter stages of the game.

“It’s not fun losing,” Saint Mary’s head coach Paul Thomas said. “In a situation like this when you see each mistake, it seems to be magnified. I am proud of everyone. I am not disappointed with this team.
