MORAGA, Calif. – The Saint Mary’s softball team earned its first victory of the season, defeating Kansas City 3-2 in the third game of the Oceanic Time Warner Cable Classic hosted by Hawaii.
The Gaels put up a crooked number in the first inning scoring three runs while Katie Moss had her second consecutive strong start to earn the win.
In the SMC first, Hailey Sparacino led off with a base hit, the third time she has done that in three games this season. Monika Reichhardt singled to put two on with no outs. Bailey Lotz then reached on a sac bunt while Sparacino scored for the first run.
