MORAGA, Calif. — In the series finale, Saint Mary’s got up early on Santa Clara (10-24, 2-1 WCC), but could not maintain the two run lead, as the Broncos stormed back in the fifth inning to claim the 4-2 win Saturday afternoon at Cottrell Field.
Eryn McCoy started in the circle for the Gaels (15-21, 1-2 WCC) and pitched 5.0 innings. McCoy struck out three batters, and gave up just two earned runs. The first year player also batted in the Gaels lineup and scored a run for SMC.
Senior Katie Moss came in for relief purposes and pitched the last two innings giving up an unearned run.
