SANTEE, Calif. – The Saint Mary’s softball team scored seven runs in the final four innings to stun Harvard with a 9-8 victory in eight innings to cap an exciting day of softball for the Gaels at the San Diego Tournament in Santee.

In a game where no lead was safe, the Gaels fell behind 4-0, rallied to lead 7-6 and had Harvard down to its last out in the seventh. The Crimson hit a devastating solo home run to tie it as Harvard was down to their last strike. SMC bounced right back however in the tiebreaker rules, scoring a pair of runs, then stranding the Harvard’s potential winning runs on base to win its sixth straight game.
