MORAGA, Calif. – The Saint Mary’s softball team rallied in the seventh inning to score a pair of runs as the Gaels topped Manhattan 2-1 on Saturday afternoon in the Saint Mary’s Tournament. Three games were able to be completed in full, with the final match-up of the day between the Gaels and Vikings being cancelled due to continuing rain.
With a game reaching the seventh inning in a scoreless tie, Manhattan broke through with a sac fly in the top half to take a 1-0 lead.
The Gaels began the bottom half of the seventh with Shannon Low reaching on a base hit, followed by a pair of walks to Bailey Lotz and Dylan Linton to load the bases with no outs.
