STANFORD, Calif. – The Saint Mary’s softball team opened the Stanford Nike Tournament with a loss to North Dakota State on Friday afternoon on the Cardinal campus.
Trailing 5-0, the Gaels made things interesting in the sixth inning as Hailey Sparacino and Andrea Hazel had doubles to plate SMC’s first run of the game. Saint Mary’s would add another runner in the inning and get the potential tying run into the on deck circle, but NDSU got out of the jam.
SMC had four hits on the day. Monika Reichhardt and Katelyn Mamizuka also had hits for SMC.
