MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's (9-30, 2-1 WCC) had an opportunity to split Tuesday's doubleheader with Sacramento State but a late rally by the Hornets (24-18, 5-3 Big Sky) would lead to a sweep over the Gaels.
Game 1 The Gaels mustered up just three hits in the opening game as the Hornets' ace Savanna Corr kept SMC off balance in the box. Kimiko Zapanta had a single in the fifth and immediately swiped two bags and came home on a throwing error by the CSUS catcher to score the team's lone run.
