PROVO, Utah. – The Saint Mary’s softball team had plenty of hits but could not pull out a win in the doubleheader at BYU on Friday evening.
Despite two losses to BYU, the Gaels are now 5-3 in West Coast Conference action and in the mix for the conference title. SMC and BYU will square off in a crucial game on Saturday at 11 AM (PT).
In game one, the Gaels got a runner in scoring position in both the second and third innings. Monika Reichhardt had a one out triple in the second and Katelyn Mamizuka got to second with two outs in the third.
