by Conrad Sain | Contributing Writer

The Saint Mary’s Softball team kicked off its season last week in the Oceanic Time Warner Cable Paradise Classic in Honolulu, Hawai’i. The team had two wins and three losses over the five game stretch, outscoring their opponents in their victories by ten runs. The team received excellent production from their first baseman Bailey Lotz, a freshman from Boulder Creek, California. She went 5 for 14, good for a .357 average, and drove in three runs. Saint Mary’s pitching was also a force to be reckoned with. Katie Moss, a junior and the ace of the staff, tossed 16.
