Saint Mary's leads WCC men's golf championships

The Saint Mary's golf team owns a substantial 22-stroke lead, while senior Jonathan De Los Reyes stretched his individual lead to six strokes headed into Wednesday's final round of the West Coast Conference Championships at Danville's Blackhawk Country Club.

The Gaels posted the best team score Tuesday among the nine-team field. Their 2-under par 286 was five strokes better than second-place Pepperdine and third-place BYU. Saint Mary's enters the final round at 17-under par.Individually, four of the Gaels' five players are among the top 10 individuals in the 45-player field. Behind tournament leader De Los Reyes, Connor Blick is in sole possession of third place at 4-under par, one of just eight golfers under par after 36 holes.
