SANTA CLARA -- Whenever Saint Mary's needed a 3-pointer to distance itself from Santa Clara on Wednesday night, it found one.
Led by freshman center Evan Fitzner, the Gaels repeatedly connected from long distance whenever the Broncos got close as the Gaels rolled to an 81-59 victory at the Leavey Center.Saint Mary's (10-1, 2-0 West Coast Conference) shot an impressive 47.6 percent from behind the arc. Fitzner was even more impressive, going 4 for 5 from 3-point range -- and 7 for 8 from the field overall -- in scoring a game-high 21 points.Forwards Dane Pineau and Calvin Hermanson added 14 and 11 points, respectively, for Saint Mary's.
