MORAGA, Calif. -- Calvin Hermanson and Jordan Ford combined to score 33 points and Saint Mary's used a strong second half to get by Dayton, 69-54 on Tuesday night.

The Gaels trailed by two at intermission, 31-29, but upped their defense in the second half to outscore the Flyers 40-23 over the final 20 minutes.

Jock Landale recorded his fourth straight double-double and his sixth of the season for Saint Mary's, scoring 14 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. But the senior center came into the game averaging better than 27 points and 12.
