GOLD RIVER, Calif. – The Saint Mary’s rowing team was led by its varsity four on Saturday afternoon at the West Coast Conference Championships. The SMC varsity four finished third overall, getting the Gaels started off strong. Brianna Pero and Alexis McGuire were selected to the All-WCC Team.
As a team, the Gaels finished fifth overall, tying four fourth but Portland winning the tiebreaker based on a higher varsity eight boat finish.
After the varsity four finished third, the second varsity eight finished fourth. In the final race of the day, Saint Mary’s finished fifth in the varsity eight race.
