HUMBOLDT, Calif. - The Saint Mary's Women's Rowing team had a big momentum shift in the middle of the season by coming out on top against the defending NCAA Division II Champions, Cal Poly Humboldt.
The Gaels first varsity 8+ took the win with a time of 7:22.2, beating the Lumberjacks by 11.9 seconds. This boat contained Skye Kirsten as the coxswain, Hathaway Scarpine as the stroke, Katie Ferbet, Katelyn Robertson, Hanna Kügler, Natalie Sanchez, Kendall Brazeel, Maria Moreno, and as the bow.
The second varsity 8+ did not hold back, defeating Humboldt by 30 seconds coming in at 7:33.
