TEMPE, Ariz. — The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced their All-Academic Teams and Scholar Athletes this week with a list that featured two Saint Mary's men's tennis student-athletes and recognized the Gaels as an All-Academic Team.
Senior Nash Vollenweider and freshman Andy Watterson distinguished themselves as scholar-athletes for having GPAs above 3.50 at the end of the school year. The duo represented two of 4,328 total student-athletes among all three divisions of NCAA, NAIA, and junior college tennis to receive the award from the ITA.
The men's team was also one of 735 college teams to receive the All-Academic Award given to teams whose GPA was 3.
