SACRAMENTO — The Saint Mary’s men’s tennis team (3-6) dropped a tough match to UC Davis in the first round of the Golden State Invitational today, 6-1.
The Gaels struggled in the day’s action as the team could not claim the early doubles point.
In his normal No. 1 position, Nash Vollenweider competed hard and hung tough, but ultimately fell in a straight-set decision.
First year player Damon Kesaris continues to impress, winning another contest on court 2 for the Gaels. Kesaris defeated Alec Adamson in straight-sets, 6-1, 6-4.
Matthew Campana returned to action for SMC, playing in the third position for the Gaels.
