MORAGA, Calif. – James Markiewicz of the Saint Mary’s men’s tennis team has been named this week’s SMC Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week.
With the Gaels down 3-1 in the match, Markiewicz helped lead a furious comeback by the Gaels, resulting in a 4-3 SMC win.
Markiewicz defeated Joaquin Marquez at No. 3 singles 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-4) which locked up the final match clinching point.
Saint Mary's hosts Sonoma State on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
