ORLANDO, Fla. — Junior Sebastian Grijalva took the court at the ITA Fall Championships on Thursday in Orlando and came up just short in a three-set match.
Grijalva was invited to play in the exclusive 32-man tournament after being ranked as one of the highest junior college players in the nation last season. The ITA Fall Championships, which normally hosts 64 competitors in both men's and women's, was restructured this year due to COVID-19 and the lack of fall tournaments.
Grijalva faced off with one of the nation's top junior players Kyle Kang in the first round and battled to a 3-6, 7-6(5), 1-6 decision.
