MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's (3-14, 1-5 WCC) began the match on a strong note by claiming the doubles point against Santa Clara but would ultimately fall to the Broncos by a score of 5-1.
James Watt and Boris Reckow easily defeated Santa Clara's No. 2 pair, 6-0, before Daniel Krutik and David Abfalter clinched the point with a 6-2 victory on Court 3.
The Broncos (13-4, 4-2 WCC) won all five singles matches in straight sets. Abfalter was midway through his second set against Vasileios Iliopoulos before the match was called.
