MORAGA, Calif. — An overwhelming offense finally broke through in the second half Friday, as Western Michigan defeated the Saint Mary’s men’s soccer team, 2-0, with two second half goals at Saint Mary’s Stadium.

The Gaels (0-3-2) shut out the Broncos (5-0) for nearly 57 minutes, but WMU’s relentless offense finally broke through 12 minutes into the second half. Western Michigan outshot Saint Mary’s 14-7, though the shots were just 7-5 in the second half as SMC picked up its attack.

Western Michigan broke the scoreless tie on a set piece off a corner. Tommy Clark sent the ball all the way to the back post, where it freely found Zack Bock for a header back into the net and a 1-0 lead.
