SAN MATEO, Calif. — Saint Mary's swept the first week of West Coast Conference player awards today as Andrew Rotter was named Offensive Player of the Week and Louis Sterobo earned the Defensive Player nod.
Rotter effectively had two game-winning plays for the Gaels last week in their wins over Pacific and Santa Clara. The freshman recorded two shots in the team's season opener against Pacific and was responsible for drawing a foul inside the penalty box in the second overtime that allowed Sebastian Schacht to score on the penalty kick and win the game for SMC.
