MORAGA, Calif. — No. 22 Saint Mary's faced Gonzaga for their second conference match of the season on Sunday and came away with a 2-0 win due to a pair of first-half goals. The Gaels are now 1-0-1 in West Coast Conference play and 3-0-1 overall.
SMC secured their fourth shutout of the year by limiting the Bulldogs to just two shots on goal in the entire match. Saint Mary's did well to keep the ball out of their defense by allowing only one Bulldogs corner kick as well.
Lucas Andrews broke through with the first score of the game in the 20th minute after freshman threw the ball in just a few feet away from the corner flag.
