SAN BRUNO, Calif. — After his game winning goal in the 84th minute at Denver, sophomore Anders Engebretsen has been named West Coast Conference Player of the week for the week of Sept. 11-17, it was announced today.
Engebretsen becomes the first Gael to win the conference player of the week award since Joseph Restani had the honors on Oct. 24, 2016.
Locked in a 0-0 tie, Engebretsen secured the pass at the top right corner of the 18 yard box, and curled his left footed strike past the Pioneers keeper and into the top left corner.
