MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's men's cross country runner Noah McDermott has been named the Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Aug. 28-Sept. 3 after winning his season-opening race Friday at the Nevada Twilight Classic in Sparks, Nev.
McDermott won the 5,000-meter race with a time of 16 minutes, 14 seconds. McDermott led the Gaels to a team victory as well. SMC placed four among the top-10, winning the team title with 24 points. The victory came in a homecoming of sorts for McDermott, who hails from Tahoe City, Calif.
