MORAGA, Calif. -- A battle-tested Saint Mary's men's basketball team withstood a hot-shooting second half to win its 18th home game of the season with a 73-64 victory over a strong Grand Canyon side Tuesday night in McKeon Pavilion.
The 24th ranked Gaels improved to 25-4 on the season and ended its regular season with an 18-1 record at home. SMC clinched its third West Coast Conference regular season title last weekend and enters this weekend's league championships as the tournament's top seed.
Grand Canyon, which entered tonight's game rated 99th in the official NCAA ratings percentage index, dropped to 24-6 overall and returns to action Saturday at Utah Valley.
