MORAGA, Calif. – The Saint Mary’s men’s basketball team won its fifth straight by dominating the paint in a 65-50 win over Utah Valley on Monday night in McKeon Pavilion.
The Gaels opened the game on a 22-4 run and never looked back, cruising to the win as four Gaels scored in double figures. On a night where SMC struggled from behind the arc, Saint Mary’s called on another strength in this one, dominating UVU 40-16 in the paint.
With the win, Saint Mary’s improves to 11-1, while Utah Valley drops to 5-9. The Gaels return to West Coast Conference action on Thursday night with a big home game against Brigham Young on New Year’s Eve.
