MORAGA, Calif. – The Saint Mary’s lacrosse team battled hard against Oregon before falling in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match-up on Sunday afternoon.
Despite facing 30 first-half shots by the Ducks, the Gaels were within 5-2 nearly midway through the first half before the Ducks scored 13 unanswered goals between the first and second halves.
Meagan Bennett led the Gaels with a goal and assist in the game, while Annamarie Carmazzi and Hanna Dalrymple also scored for SMC.
Sydney Pinello was strong in goal facing all 48 shots with 17 saves.
SMC took seven shots in the game with seven ground balls, six draw controls and went 8-for-12 on clears.
