MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's golfer Ash Hakim has been named Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 18-24 after an impressive outing in the team's title at The Inverness Intercollegiate in Toledo.
In his collegiate debut, Hakim finished tied-12th in the 87-player field after finishing 2-under par for the tournament. The 5-9 freshman was tied for second in par 5 scoring with an average of 4.25. Hakim scored 3-under on the par 5 holes during the tournament.
In the first tournament of the new season, the Gaels captured their first title at The Inverness with a one stroke victory over Michigan State.
