LIHU'E, Kaua'i – Saint Mary's Golf concluded day one of the John A. Burns Intercollegiate in sixth place out of 18 teams, after an up-and-down day still saw them finish in the upper half of the field and with two golfers in the top 15 of 102 players.
Mitchell Hoey finished round one 4-under par and tied for eighth place and Michael Slesinski is tied for 13th at 3-under par. Hoey already has seven birdies and he and Slesinski have each made an eagle.
