STANFORD, Calif. — With windy conditions, the Stanford Golf Course proved to play extremely tough as the Saint Mary’s golf team struggled in the first round of The Goodwin.
The Gaels are in a four way tie for 15th after scoring 18-over 298 in round one.
Tournament host, Stanford, is the only team in the field under par, as the Cardinal sit atop the leaderboard at 4-under. Washington is seven strokes behind Stanford at 3-over. SMU is in third place at 4-over par, while No. 1 USC is in fourth at 5-over. BYU rounds out the top-5 at 8-over par.
