MORAGA, Calif. — The Saint Mary's golf team were chosen to finish fourth in this year's West Coast Conference Coaches Poll as announced by the conference Thursday.
Pepperdine was polled to win the WCC Championship and received eight of the nine first place votes. BYU finished as the runner up receiving the final first place vote and San Francisco finished as the third runner-up just one point ahead of SMC.
Saint Mary's finished fourth in the polls despite a second place finish at last year's conference championships. The Gaels have not finished below third at the WCC Championships since 2014 and have placed third or better in six of the past seven seasons including first place finishes in 2016, 2013, and 2012.
