TOLEDO, Ohio — The Saint Mary's golf team secured its 22nd all-time team title after being named Inverness Intercollegiate champions on Tuesday at The Inverness Club.
This marks the first time the Gaels have claimed the Inverness Intercollegiate, and first team title since winning the WCC Championships in April 2016.
Heavy rainfall and lightning cancelled the final round, as the Gaels finished the tournament on top at 10-under par. Michigan State (-9), UCLA (-3), Michigan (-3) and Washington (+1) finished inside the top-5 of the leaderboard.
SMC was led by senior Pavan Sagoo, as he finished the tournament tied-4th at 5-under par.
