SAN BRUNO, Calif. — The Saint Mary's golf team were chosen third in this year's West Coast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, as senior Perry Cohen was also named to the All-WCC Preseason Team, the conference announced today.
Pepperdine was polled to win the WCC Championship and received eight of the nine first place votes. BYU finished as the runner-up just three points ahead of SMC and received the final first place vote.
Cohen earned All-WCC honors after an excellent junior campaign that saw him lead the Gaels in multiple statistical categories. The San Diego native played in all 12 of Saint Mary's scheduled tournaments and posted four top-10 finishes, including a first place finish at the Nick Watney Invitational.
