MORAGA, Calif. — No. 17 Saint Mary’s took down Nevada 81-63 in their season opener thanks in part to a 33 point performance by center Jock Landale and eight assists each from guards Joe Rahon and Emmett Naar. Not shown on the boxscore, however, is the effect the Gaels home crowd had on the game.
“We are so thankful for our crowd that came out, it was an unbelievable turnout and it gave us a huge boost to start the game and throughout the whole game,” said Rahon about the home fans.
