MORAGA, Calif. — Former Saint Mary's College baseball student-athlete Patrick Wisdom was named the National League Player of the Week, announced by Major League Baseball this afternoon.
Called up from Triple-A Iowa on May 25, the 29-year-old Wisdom has put together a historic start to his Cubs career. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Wisdom is one of three players, along with Trevor Story (2016 for the Rockies) and Aristides Aquino (2019 for the Reds), who have hit as many as seven homers within their first eight starts with a team.
