MORAGA, Calif. – Gaels pitcher Derik Eaquinto was named the Bay Alarm Student-Athlete of the Week as voted on by the SMC staff after another dominant performance this week.
The Ogden, Utah native pitched like an ace for the third straight game in eight innings of work, allowing just four hits with no walks and six strikeouts.
Eaquinto kept Xavier scoreless through 7.2 innings before allowing a solo home run to the short porch in right, where it is just 304 feet down the right field line in Joseph P. Arrenivar Field on the campus of Pittsburg High.
