MORAGA, Calif. — After a prolific career donning the Saint Mary’s uniform, former Gael Jordan Shaw sheds the “assistant” tag from indoors in the fall and takes the reins of the Saint Mary’s beach volleyball program outdoors this spring, serving as head coach of the program in the first official NCAA championship season for the sport.
Shaw’s credentials for being head coach of the Gaels’ beach volleyball team precede her. She was a prominent figure for the Gaels both indoors and outdoors during her four-year career at Saint Mary’s (2010-2014). She was a two-time first team all-West Coast Conference honoree and was named an American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American honorable mention.
